Remains

Remains is a meditation on the transitional chapter of a relationship break up. When a relationship ended, I documented the intimate and mundane objects left behind.

To connect with the reflective process, I employed the ritual of walking as a starting point. Through a series of exploratory walks in the local neighbourhood, I discovered a storm water drain. Each day I was drawn back to this place. I gazed into the dampness and engaged the depths below as liminal space.

The illustrated object remnants were posted into the stormwater drain in a ritual act of relinquishment.
